Officina Meccanica Schiatti Angelo at glasstec 2022: post fair balance

Date: 7 October 2022

It has certainly been a year of relaunch, which has finally winked at the longed for normality and perhaps regained after years of pandemic.

At Glasstec 2022, many of the questions that the sector faces were discussed such as the global challenges of climate change, the lack of resources, the opportunities that glass offers to increase people's quality of life.

Together with other exhibitors we took turns not only in the usual hospitality, at our stands, but in numerous interventions and specific conferences around the themes of innovation.

From Schiatti's point of view, the technological innovation has long been paired with automation and energy efficiency. For us, this owes a substantial creation of value for companies.

Without forgetting the need to a profit orientation for the company, our research goes towards the generation of sustainable and stable value.

The protagonists of the 2022 edition of Glasstec, for Schiatti, were the straight-line edgers model SME10, FPS50M3 but above all the automatic FPS20RS.

The FPS20RS is able to work glass thicknesses from 3 to 30 mm and its operation is completely managed by the convenient PLC. The automatic version allows the self-adjustment of all grinding wheels, both diamond and polishing, based on wear.

The most enthusiastic comments concerned the novelty about the automation. This, in fact, drastically reduces operator time and the possibility of fault.

Both for increase of energy-costs and for an ever better adherence to the rules of the Circular Economy, long ago we have undertaken a constant improvement in the performance of the motors of the machines. With our start & stop system, the machine switches off automatically after a preset time of inactivity, reducing consumption. Energy saving is also achieved thanks to the optimization of times and the automation and efficiency of many processes.

As always, it was nice to meet you and tell you, with pride and passion, the progress that every year our technology does.

However, we decided to leave the service unchanged, because you told us that we could do nothing more than that given the familiar and customer-centric approach that we always try to maintain.
